Did it once when I was 17 as a high school graduation trip. Filling contact lens solutions with vodka and PGA was pretty epic. But in general I can’t imagine really loving a giant cruise again unless I’m hammered and partying most of the time. I don’t know why we don’t just have “party buildings” where everyone just goes inside for 3 days. The actual travel and destinations were a distant second place to almost everyone on board.

Small cruises are amazing, though. We did a Windstar cruise in Europe about 10 years ago. With just 300 passengers, it’s more like an amazing private yacht...but typically 3x the price per day of a mega-ship. My parents have done Viking cruises twice on European rivers and said it’s better than train, bus, or plane -- you just pull right up to the old sections of town the way people have done it for thousands of years.
